Privacy Policy

Maison Moi is a personal wardrobe app. Your closet is personal, so we keep this simple: we collect what the app needs to work, we never sell it, and you can take it with you or delete it.

What we collect

• Your account. Your email address and password. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody, including us, can read them.
• Your profile. Your name, zip code, goals and chosen theme.
• Your closet. The pieces you add and their details (brand, color, size, price, condition, notes), photos you upload, what you wear, laundry status and the outfits you like or skip.
• Your inspiration. Links, Pinterest boards and saved looks you add.
• Trips you plan. The destination, dates and activities you enter in Travel, the looks we suggest and your packing checklist.
• Your device location, only if you turn it on. If you tap "Use my location" for the weather, your browser asks your permission, then we round your location to about 1 km. It stays on your device (it is never saved to your account) and is used only to get your forecast. Tap "Use" with your city to switch back to your zip code anytime.
• Feedback you send. If you use Submit feedback while signed in, we save your note, the kind of feedback you picked, any screenshots or photos you attach (up to 3), your account email, the page you came from and your browser type, so we can understand and follow up.
• Messages you send us. If you use the Contact us form, we receive your name, email, topic and message by email.
• Error reports. If something goes wrong in the app, it sends us a short report so we can fix it: what went wrong, the page, the app version, your browser type and, if you're signed in, which account it happened on. They're about the app's code, not your closet, and never include your photos.
• Basic technical information. Like most websites, the services that host Maison Moi may log your IP address and browser type for security and to keep things running.

How we use it

• To run the app: show your closet, recommend outfits for your weather and plans, and sync across your devices.
• To answer you when you contact us, to improve Maison Moi using your feedback, and to keep accounts secure.

We don't sell your information, show you ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers. We do keep our own anonymous count of visits to the sign-in page and plays of the How it works video: how many each day, how many were first visits, and which site linked to us. It uses no cookies and no IP addresses, and nothing in it is tied to you. We don't use your closet to train AI models.

Who helps run Maison Moi

We use a small number of trusted service providers. Each only gets what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use your information for their own advertising.

• Hosting and storage: runs the website, your account, the database and photo storage.
• Email: sends account emails and delivers messages you send us.
• Security: checks that people signing up, signing in or using the contact form aren't bots.
• Payments, only if paid plans are ever introduced and you choose one: a payment provider would handle your card details. Maison Moi never sees or stores your full card number.
• Weather and location lookup: turns your zip code into a city and gets your forecast. For Travel, it also finds the destination you type and gets the forecast and typical weather there.

Some features connect to other sites only when you use them: pasting a product link reads its details from that store, and adding a Pinterest board shows it from Pinterest. If you tap "Find it online" on a piece, its photo is sent to Google Lens to look for matching products (when you're signed in, Lens gets a private link to the photo that stops working after an hour). Shop links open sites such as Poshmark, Depop and Google Shopping. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Storage on your device

Maison Moi keeps a copy of your closet in your browser's local storage so it opens instantly and works offline, plus a sign-in token so you stay signed in, and a note of whether this browser has visited before (for the anonymous visit count). Signing out removes them, along with any other Maison Moi data saved in that browser. We don't use advertising cookies.

Who can see your information

Only you, through your account. Security rules in our database stop any account from reading anyone else's closet, and your photos are kept in private storage. Maison Moi's owner can access account data when needed for support, security or legal reasons, and never for advertising.

Keeping and deleting your information

• We keep your information while your account is open.
• You can delete any piece or photo in the app at any time.
• You can delete your whole account yourself in the app (Profile, then Delete my account). This immediately deletes your account, closet and photos, and clears the copy on that browser. You can also email us from your account's email address and we'll do it within 30 days. Any copies in backups expire within 30 days after that.
• We keep feedback and contact emails as long as they help us improve Maison Moi or support you. Feedback is deleted with your account.
• We keep error reports for as long as they help us fix problems. When you delete your account, they're no longer linked to it.
• Maison Moi is free (see Fees in our Terms of Use). If you ever pay for a plan, our payment provider keeps those billing records for as long as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

• See and take your data: Profile, then Your data, then Export .json gives you a full copy anytime (Export CSV gives a spreadsheet of your closet).
• Correct it: edit anything in the app.
• Delete it: as described above.

Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have extra rights, such as asking what we hold about you. Email us and we'll help. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and each account's data is walled off from every other account. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password you don't use anywhere else.

Age requirement

Maison Moi is only for people 18 and older, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has made an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email first.
