What's new
Everything we've added and fixed, newest first. Have an idea for what's next? Tell us.
Version 2.8.2
Updated terms and privacy
- NewWe updated our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Maison Moi is free, and if that ever changes we'll tell you at least 30 days ahead. You'd never be charged without agreeing first.
Version 2.7
Better picks, easier adding
- NewFrom an outfit photo: box each piece in one photo to add them to your closet, from Bulk add.
- NewBetter shopping recommendations in Shop.
- NewWe've added Terms of Use, including how to report a copyright concern. Maison Moi is now for people 18 and older.
Version 2.6
Under the hood
- FixSaving and syncing are more dependable, especially on a weak signal.
- FixA few small bug fixes around the app, including Travel.
Version 2.4.1
Loads right every time
- FixAfter an update, the app could open to a blank page on some phones until it was refreshed. It now always loads the matching new files.
Version 2.4
Clean and steady
- NewKeep it clean. Names, brands, notes and board names with profanity are asked to be reworded before they save. Fashion terms and brand names that only look similar are fine.
- FixIf adding pieces on two devices at once goes over the 200-piece limit, everything else in your closet still saves, and you're told which part is waiting.
Version 2.3
Every piece saves
- FixClosets past 15 pieces save again. Maison Moi is free for everyone, but your account was still turning away pieces past 15. Anything waiting on your phone saves on its own now. Closets hold up to 200 pieces for now.
- FixToday no longer breaks when a look includes a piece you've since removed: the looks are rebuilt.
Version 2.2
Safety first
- FixYour library is safe on every device. Changes made in an older copy of the app left open (like a home screen app from a few days ago) are never overwritten.
- FixThe automatic refresh waits until you've been away a while, you're online, and nothing you typed would be lost. Otherwise you'll just see the Refresh bar.
- FixSkipping the quiz's bonus questions now really skips them: color keeps following your boards.
- FixWith a strict pattern rule, a day never ends up without looks.
Version 2.1
Outfits that know you
- NewThe style quiz. A one-minute, one-tap quiz about patterns, sandals, boots, dresses and skirts, and layering. Your daily looks follow your answers. Find it on your homepage, or anytime in Profile > Your style rules.
- BetterNo more surprise sweatpants. Loungewear only shows up on Relaxing, Active and Travel days. A day with nothing ticked is treated as an everyday day.
- BetterPatterns that work together. One statement pattern per look, or the mix you said you like.
- BetterReal seasons. Looks go by your area's time of year and the actual forecast: no sandals on a cool November day, but yes on an unseasonably warm one. Summer tops on cool days come with a layer, and boots come out when it's cold or wet.
- BetterYour whole closet in rotation. Looks remember the last two weeks, on every device, so more of your pieces get their turn and the same pairings don't keep coming back.
Version 2.0
A sturdier home for your closet
- BetterYour library and outfit history have their own place in your account. Nothing changes on screen, but it's the groundwork for smarter daily picks and the style quiz coming next.
- NewAlways up to date. When a new version of Maison Moi is out, you'll see a Refresh bar. Coming back to the app with nothing open refreshes it for you.
Version 1.9
Drafts, so nothing gets lost
- NewSave as draft. Not ready to finish a piece? Save it as a draft from Add to closet. Nothing is required yet. Find your drafts under My Closet > Drafts, tap one to finish it, or ✕ to delete it. Drafts stay out of your outfits until they're done.
- BetterFind it online keeps your place. The piece you're adding is saved before Google Lens opens, and the form reopens filled in when you come back, even if your phone reloaded the page.
- BetterBulk add adds the pieces that are ready and keeps the rest as drafts, instead of waiting for every piece to be finished.
Version 1.8
Say exactly what it is
- NewSpecific clothing types. Pick T-shirt, Fitted T-shirt, Light or Heavy sweater, Jeans, Chinos, Midi skirt, Light, Medium or Heavy jacket, Bag, Hat and more, grouped under Tops, Bottoms, Dresses, Jackets & Coats, Shoes and Bags, Hats & Accessories.
- BetterYour closet is sorted for you. Every piece you already have got its type from its name. Something off? Open it and pick the right one.
- BetterSmarter layering. A light sweater goes under a medium jacket, a heavy sweater waits for a heavy jacket or coat, and fitted tees and long sleeves come first as the layer under a sweater.
- NewTap Tops (or any category) in My Closet to narrow it to just T-shirts, just Light sweaters and so on.
- FixPhoto links no longer fill the name with codes like "Q Auto, F Auto". A blank name becomes a plain one, like "White T-shirt".
Version 1.7
Wear what you want
- New"I picked my own outfit." Dressed yourself today? Tap it on your homepage, pick the pieces you wore from your closet, and save. It counts in your wear log (marked "Your pick"), updates your laundry, and teaches your daily picks what you like on days like this one.
- NewSave the outfit you picked as a favorite look in the same step.
Version 1.6
Store links that fill themselves in
- BetterPaste a link, get the details. Pieces from most stores now come in with their name, brand, color, price and photo, plus the sizes and colors to pick from. Stores that block this get a much better guess from the link.
- BetterEvery piece has the basics. Clothing type, color, size and seasons are now required, so your outfits and packing lists work with complete information. Bags and jewelry? Tap "One size".
- FixedBallet flats, ballerinas and Mary Janes are filed as shoes, and overalls as bottoms.
Version 1.5
See how it works
- NewA 45-second tour on the sign-in page: adding a piece, planning your day, keeping a favorite and packing for a trip.
- NewA new entrance. Our hanger drops into its box to say hello. (It plays once per visit, and not at all if your device is set to reduce motion.)
Version 1.4
Comfier picks, better layering and more variety
- NewJust tell me about your day. With "Tell me about your day" open, your plans are read straight from what you write, no boxes to tick. It also picks up the office, presenting, travel and being on your feet.
- BetterComfy isn't only sweatpants. On days past 3/5 comfort, wide-leg, baggy and other relaxed jeans and pants are in the running too.
- BetterJackets that fit over what's under them. No more chunky sweaters under a denim jacket: the jacket is always at least as warm as the top.
- BetterMore variety. Pieces from the looks you saw over the last few days take a rest, and changing your day's settings won't bring the same pieces back.
Version 1.3
Favorites, one-tap logging and a closet that follows you everywhere
- NewFavorite looks. Tap ♡ on any outfit to save it. Find them under My Closet › Favorite looks, and they'll come back in your daily picks now and then.
- New"I wore this" in one tap. Log a whole outfit with a single button. Wore only part of it? Pick the pieces instead.
- NewUse Maison Moi on all your devices at once. Changes from your phone and computer now come together instead of overwriting each other, and the app catches up when you come back to it.
- NewA simpler way to add pieces. Just a photo, name, type, color and size. Everything else is filled in for you under More details.
- NewFind it online. Look a piece up with Google Lens from its photo, copy the store's link, and come back: the details fill themselves in.
- NewChange your password and log out right from your Profile.
- NewAdd screenshots to your feedback, up to three per note.
- NewA bottom tab bar on phones, so everything is a thumb away.
- BetterSafer reset. "Clear this browser" refreshes a device without deleting anything. "Start my closet over" asks you to confirm and saves a backup first.
- BetterResell and Shop now wait until you've shared your style (a Pinterest board or a few vibes) before calling pieces off-style.
- FixedThe sign-in security check now shows itself and explains what's wrong if it can't finish.
- FixedThe Import links button no longer gets stuck, and unplanned trips can be deleted.
- NewThis page! Every release now has a version number, starting from 1.0 on launch day.
Version 1.2
Travel
- NewPlan a trip. Tell us where, when and what you'll be doing. We'll check the weather there, style every day from your closet, and build your packing list.
- NewKeep a piece and restyle the rest. Lock the pieces you love on a look, and shuffle everything else.
- BetterPhotos upload faster and take up less space.
Version 1.1
Smarter outfits and a free Maison Moi
- NewMaison Moi is free for everyone. Every feature, no card needed.
- NewUse your location for the forecast instead of your zip code, if you'd like.
- NewTwo ways to add a piece: from a store link, or from your own photo.
- NewSubmit feedback and Contact us pages.
- BetterSmarter outfits. Socks match your shoes, and sweaters get an optional layer underneath.
- BetterShuffling brings genuinely new looks instead of the same few.
- BetterMore accurate forecasts, from the same models the National Weather Service uses.
- BetterA security check keeps bots out of sign-up and sign-in.
